Entertainment Law
Entertainment law regulates all of the areas of the creative arts, including film, theater, dance, music, opera, fine art, television, radio, visual art, and literary publishing. Each field has its own customs, rules, and trade unions, which influence negotiations, contracts, and litigation processes. The law of contracts and intellectual property govern the rights and creative works of song writers, musicians, literary workers, and other artists. Specifically, the copyright, trademark, patent, or license of an intellectual work vests with the author or owner and provides him or her with a multitude of rights related to the work under the law. Labor and employment laws are also part of the area of legal practice known as entertainment law because they serve the purpose of regulating the multitude of unions and contractual agreements at work within the entertainment industry. |
